MLB Winter Meeting Predictions

The annual MLB Winter Meetings begin tonight in Dallas, Texas. Here are my predictions...

Jimmy Rollins and the Phillies come to a 4 yr/$44M pact with a 5th year vesting option.

Matt Garza of the Cubs and Matt Thornton of the White Sox are dealt to the Yankees.

The Twins retain Matt Capps and Michael Cuddyer.

There is a reunion in Colorado with Jeff Francis and the Rockies.

The Rockies and Braves do some sort of Martin Prado for Seth Smith and prospects swap.

Jose Reyes and the Miami Marlins agree on a contract for 6 yr/$102M.

Blue Jays find their closer by inking Francisco Cordero for 2 yr/$15M.

The Pirates sign Derek Lee 1 yr/$6M with option for 2013.

Now lets see how much, if any of this, comes true...

I think no.

The Yanks have tons of prospects in the minors that the Cubs would take in a heartbeat.

I got the Reyes contract right. I predicted 6 yr/$102M which is exactly what he got minus the $4M buyout to bump it to $106M.
