What do Pedro Beato, Sergio Santos, Johnny Cueto, Brad Ziegler, Scott Downs, and about every other pitcher in baseball have in common? They've allowed an earned run this season. The five of them each got nicked last week and no longer boast a 0.00 ERA. In fact the active leader in innings pitched in 2011 with nary a run surrendered is the Yankees Lance Pendleton(7.1 IP). Yep, the Power of Zero no longer exists. Of course, once Jose Contreras is lifted from the DL, we might have another story on our hands (currently 8 IP). But until then, zero takes a rest.

The Power of Zero (Part 4)
