Singles Bar

Say hello to Joey Gathright- singles hitter. The KC outfielder was just placed on the 15-day DL yesterday, and I'm sure the Royals are going to miss his hitting prowess. Joey is batting .259, which isn't horrible. However, his slugging percentage is a ghastly .267...how the hell is that even possible? I'll tell you how- of his 62 hits, 59 have been singles (2 doubles, 1 triple, no homeruns). His on base percentage must be the thing that makes him worthwhile then right? You would think, but unfortunately for Kansas City that is also a no-go with it being only .302, making his OPS a craptastic .569. Gathright is a speedster (21 stolen bases in '08), and that's about the only good he's got going for him, but he doesn't get on base enough to utilize it. Welcome to the singles bar...

Hey GM, another good job here.I'm impressed that you're able to do quality blog work on so many different mediums. I don't even mind the repeat content because I have too much Phillies anger to unleash it all in one place. I will check back here again and take another look around.
